19. Safety Glass to replace all old non-safety screen glass:

Exclusive use of safety glass in shower screens, with multi design screens, and hob-less showers. Campaigning over a 40-year period for replacement of all existing non-safety glass in old bathrooms with safety-glass. Deaths have occurred from people falling through non-safety glass in shower recesses. Previously it was not a requirement to install safety glass. It remains as a very difficult area of identification. However, the absence of a Safety Glass logo by Standards Association will identify non-safety glass and many consumers are unaware of the lethal potential of existing screens. Modern pivot door shower screens offer safety glass as standard with good access, with various designs previously unavailable. All shower recesses should include non-slip tiles and safety glass to prevent deaths.
