The Australian Bathroom & Waterproofing Association was formed to address existing problems in bathroom construction in particular and waterproofing in general.

We have attempted to highlight the best products in the Australian bathroom industry. To that end we undertook our own evaluation and testing of various commercial products. This was started in 1985 and continues to this time.

We ensured the correct evaluation procedures were adhered to and sought the help of the Commonwealth Scientific Industrial and Research Organisation (CSIRO).

Testing facilities in both North Ryde, Sydney and Highett, Melbourne were engaged for this process.

Also research was carried out at James Hardie Industries at Camelia in Sydney.

This results of this testing was included in the first edition of The Bathroom Book Standards Australia in 1994. www.thebathroombook.com.au

Further research resulted in a second edition in 2000.

Recent disturbing industry trends have prompted the Association to compile a third edition of The Bathroom Book.
We would welcome any suggestions not already included in the previous two editions.
